MAN! Am I glad that’s over with! What’s that? Oh, just my MID-YEAR REVIEW *Gasps!!* Yea pros and cons but the cons were mostly that I have too many pros so *meh* pretty much grade awesome JHave you ever thought about giving your closet a mid-year review? Most of us, me included, have clothes in our closet that we can tell you at least one story about how we wore it out and ended up making out with a guy in a bunny costume at warehouse party….. wait no? just me? Well anyways, you get the point, it was a crazy fun time and you saw some things and took some pictures, spilled some stuff on it, repaired that zipper or re-heeled that heel… 3 years ago. FOR THE LOVE OF FASHION! LADIES! Your closet is not a museum!! It’s time for a mid-year review!!!
The transition from summer to fall is the absolute PERFECT time to do a mid-year review because most people are packing away their open-back half shirts and pulling out their sweater dresses. When you make your annual closet exchange, make sure that purposely destroyed pair of now accidentally destroyed jeans doesn’t have any of these CONS:

Too small is a FAIL for anything. Period.
A seamtress is your best friend, if you don’t want to part ways, go get it tailored.

Some ideas to save ripped jeans: turn them into shorts, wash the shorts after you cut them to get the fryed edge and experiment with dip dying (literally dipping the shorts into the dye) to achieve the oh so popular ombre look.

Should you try to salvage a pit-stained shirt, DO NOT USE BLEACH, it actually makes it worse. Instead, use Oxiclean or Raise armpit stain remover. Use a deodorant that is aluminum free to prevent future stains.
5. Over washed- If you pull out a red dress and it looks rust colored, its time to go! Clothes are meant to withstand only so much and if you think about, a wash cycle takes a lot out of a garment. Not only the exposure to washing detergent, but the motion as well. Dyes fade, knits fuzz up, elastic breaks and etc. Accept that your garment has reached the end of its life and retire it. Dull clothes do NOTHING for your style, clothes that have been subjected to free color radicals (pink whites) don’t look any better either.
To save your clothes, use color catchers for brights, woolite for darks, and always change the washer settings according to the clothes. Here are some tips to prevent fading.
To redesign damaged clothes, dying (i love this!) always goes well if there are no stains that will cause discoloration.
On average, I would say clothes should cycle out of your closet about every 2 years. Give or take for good quality and style, but the majority of clothes are damaged, over washed, stretched out or just plain never coming back in style because they shouldn’t have been in style in the first place!
